Kevin Schilling, serving his second term on the Burien City Council and currently as Burien Mayor, will run for the open Pos. 1 seat vacated by Tina Orwall. As Burien Mayor, Kevin Schilling has taken bold action to address housing, homelessness, and public safety. Kevin Schilling's tenure has been marked by listening to the community and implementing policies that work. As he continues to serve, he will bring the same approach to the Legislature, focusing on his legislative priorities to ensure effective and meaningful change for the community.

“I’m proud of what we’ve done to get more people off the streets and into shelters or transitional housing. We set up co-responder programs to connect people with services and to improve equity in policing. And we did all of that while balancing the budget and growing our economy.

Cities have been at the forefront of our State’s biggest challenges. And we know what works! Olympia needs to step up now and deliver needed support to help provide the mental health, shelter, and especially addiction treatment services that we need.”

Kevin Schilling is the only candidate in the race with successful policy experience addressing our community’s biggest concerns. As State Representative, he’ll prioritize workforce development, housing affordability, homelessness, and reducing crime by addressing our state’s drug epidemic.
